Approach
Gerbil Power was a team project based on the theme "New Energy" and created for the 2022 Vesalius Trust-a-thon, a two-week fundraiser challenge held by The Vesalius Trust for Visual Communication in the Health Sciences. This is a scholarship organization supporting graduate student research in medical and scientific communication.
Our team of six classmates were inspired by new energy innovations across the world, and strove to design a game that was informative and fun to play. Roles and responsibilities were divided, and together the team completed research, devised mechanics, designed artwork, prototyped, playtested, compiled, and marketed a fully playable card game in just two weeks.
The player's objective in Gerbil Power is to build and upgrade existing and new energy technologies (i.e., solar farms and Dyson Spheres) to achieve the most powerful gerbil settlement.
